Fifteen years have now passed since the blindness pandemic extinguished vision for the human race. New challenges begin to arise for the seeing children of the next generation, as they move into the uncharted territory of romantic attraction.

Paul and Ally, fast friends and the oldest children of the seeing generation, leave their small town on a perilous errand to protect the valley. They’ve had their share of unsupervised adventure, but nothing like the challenges they find in the broader society of survivors.

Keeping a potentially cataclysmic problem under wraps, they enter The System, exploring the pleasures of a completely different way of life and meeting new friends in the process.

Chemistry meets max confusion with new people in the mix; set in a new society with new rules, scant parental involvement, and entertainments galore. Ally and Paul begin to lose themselves in their powerful emotions, forfeiting peace for pleasure.

Will they be strong enough to break away in time, when the pull of the distraction begins to feel more important than their crucial errand?
